The main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha in the country was held at Jatiya Eidgah grounds at 7:30 am on Monday (17 June).
President Mohammed Shahabuddin along with thousands of people from all walks of life including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, Cabinet members, Members of Parliament, Supreme Court and High Court judges, political leaders, senior government officials, and diplomats from various Muslim countries offered prayers at the Jatiya Eidgah.
Khatib Maulana Mufti Ruhul Amin of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram led the Eid congregation.
There was a long line of devotees in front of the main gate of the Eidgah to offer prayers at the National Eidgah Maidan since 6:30am on Monday.
The prayer was followed by a sermon.
Prayers were offered for the country's peace, prosperity and health of the people of the country.
At the end of the prayer, the devotees exchanged greetings.
About 35,000 worshipers perform Eid prayers at the Jatiya Eidgah.
There was also a separate arrangement for women.
