Lightning strikes kill four in Rangamati

An engine-driven boat was struck by a sudden storm while sailing on Kaptai Lake in Langadu, resulting in the deaths of three individuals on the spot.

Four people, including a woman, were killed, and one is missing due to lightning strikes in Langadu upazila of Rangamati on Saturday afternoon.

 The boat's driver, Akkas Ali, remains missing, said Langadu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunur Rashid.

The deceased have been identified as Ziaul Haque (aged 50), Obaidullah (aged 30), and Bacchu Mia. 

Simultaneously, another woman, Rina Begum (aged 35), was fatally struck by lightning in Chairman Tila within the same upazila.
