Two people were injured in a fire at the Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO) sub-station in Tejgaon on Saturday (15 June). 

The injured, Assistant Electrician Ismail and Lineman Ashiq, were initially taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH). They were later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for further treatment, according to the team leader from the Prime Minister's Office of Fire Service.

DESCO Assistant Electrician Ratan said the fire originated at 3:20pm while repair work was being conducted on the RMU board of the sub-station. Upon receiving the information, a unit from the fire service and another from the Air Force responded promptly, bringing the fire under control by 3:28pm. The fire was completely extinguished by 3:40pm.
