10 ticket scalpers arrested with 500 train tickets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

During the RAB operation, a large number of train tickets from various parts of the country, 10 mobile phones, 10 SIM cards, and other evidence of ticket scalping were seized.

As Eid-ul-Azha approaches, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3) has arrested 10 ticket scalpers with 500 train tickets.

Among those arrested is a sales representative for private trains at Dhaka Railway Station, RAB-3 Commander Lt Col Firoz Kabir said at a press conference at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka on Friday (14 June). 

He said, "The scalpers purchased these tickets using other people's national ID cards and mobile numbers. They then sold these tickets to passengers at inflated prices."

The arrested individuals are: Sohel Rana (27), Mahbubur Rahman (28), Bakul Hossain (25), Shipon Ahmed (29), Arif (38), Shahadat Hossain (35), Monir (25), Shipon Chandra Das (35), Monir Ahmed (30), and Raja Molla (26).

During the RAB operation, a large number of train tickets from various parts of the country, 10 mobile phones, 10 SIM cards, and other evidence of ticket scalping were seized. 

In preliminary questioning, the arrested individuals provided information about their involvement in the black market for train tickets.
