Adequate security measures have been taken across the country around the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, said the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
"RAB members are working to make Eid travel safe and comfortable in all public places including railway stations, bus terminals and launch terminals," RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Arafat Islam said after inspecting the security measures taken at Kamalapur railway station on Thursday (13 June).
"Our battalions are working to make the Eid journey of common people safe. Security has been beefed up. Various initiatives have been taken to ensure the safety of the common people," he added.
He said intelligence surveillance is on against the ticket blackmarketers.
"We are taking immediate action on any complaints. I hope that there will be no irregularities and suffering in Eid trips this year," the RAB official said.
Requesting the passengers, he said, "Security personnel of various forces are engaged to ensure overall security during the Eid journey. RAB members are also working. If you cooperate, then will benefit all."
