Schools across the country go to a long holiday from Thursday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation.
The government calendar indicates that pupils will get almost three weeks off in a row.
Bangladesh's educational institutions have their summer vacation in June. However, Eid-ul-Azha has been added to the break because it falls around the same time this year.
Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on 17 June in Bangladesh. The school holidays will last from 13 June to 2 July. Reducing the extent of the holiday, some educational institutions set 29 June for reopening.
