Fifteen Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims, including 14 men and one woman, have died so far while performing the holy Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Eleven of the pilgrims passed away in Mecca, while four died in Medina, according to the Hajj bulletin released on Tuesday (11 June).
This year, the first Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrim died on 15 May. Over the following 25 days, another 14 Bangladeshi pilgrims passed away while receiving treatment in various government hospitals in Mecca and Medina.
Most recently, on 10 June, two pilgrims named Golam Kuddus, 54, and Shahajud Ali, 55, died. Golam Kuddus was from Taraganj in Rangpur, and Shahajud Ali was from Pirganj in Rangpur.
The other deceased pilgrims are: Asaduzzaman, 57, from Kendua Upazila, Netrakona; Mostafa, 90, from Bhola; Lutfar Rahman, 65, from Kurigram; Murtazur Rahman, 63, from Nawabganj, Dhaka; Mohammad Idris, 64, from Raozan upazila, Chattogram; Mohammad Shahjahan, 48, from Kadamtali, Dhaka; Ali Imam Bhuiya, 65, from Cumilla; Jamal Uddin, 69, from Maheshkhali upazila, Cox's Bazar; Mohammad Nurul Alam, 61, from Ramu upazila, Cox's Bazar; Maksud Ahmed, 61, from Chakaria upazila, Cox's Bazar; Momtaz Begum, 63, from Nagarkanda, Faridpur; Ariful Islam, 57, from Rampura, Dhaka and Solaiman, 73, from Saghata upazila, Gaibandha.
