Peter the Great was born in Moscow, Russia on 9 June 1672 - destined to become one of the most influential and transformative tsars in Russian history.

Born Pyotr Alekseyevich Romanov, he was the son of Tsar Alexis I and his second wife, Natalya Naryshkina.
