Police recovered weapons and military training materials after raiding a suspected militant hideout in Netrokona's Sadar Upazila on Saturday (8 June).

Based on intelligence information, police have cordoned off an isolated house in the Bhasapara area under Kailati Union, said Foyaz Ahmed, Superintendent of Police in Netrokona.

However, no one was present in the house. Police have recovered a foreign pistol, 17 bullets, a toy AK-47 rifle, handcuffs, a walkie-talkie, and other training materials, said the SP.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan, a retired engineer from Aaatpara Upazila in Netrokona, owns the house. Mannan, who lives in Gazipur, rented the house to one Arif two years ago. However, Arif was not available at the house, said the SP.

The SP also mentioned that it is suspected a group of militants might have rented the house.
