Rashed Khan Menon, President of the Workers' Party and an ally of the Awami League, said the budget was formulated to meet the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Following the budget presentation on Thursday (6 June), Menon spoke to the media, saying, "Various measures have been taken based on IMF's prescription. The brief summary, which I have seen, lacked detailed information. However, it is clear that this budget couldn't have been presented without fulfilling IMF's conditions."

Expressing his lack of optimism regarding the budget, Menon said, "Given the current reality, I'm not sure what the detailed statement contains to address the crises in public life, as we've only seen a brief summary."

He further noted, "We haven't seen any bold steps addressing issues like money laundering or the chaos in the banking sector, including corruption. These critical economic and banking sector issues were barely discussed."

Menon, a leader of the ruling 14-party alliance, added, "It seems to me that the burden has been left on the people to find solutions themselves. This budget doesn't show much difference from previous ones in this regard."
