Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will travel to India on Friday (7 June) to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new cabinet.

The invitation to attend the event was extended by PM Modi himself, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.

Earlier on Wednesday (5 June) PM Hasina congratulated Narendra Modi on his party's victory in India's 18th Lok Sabha elections.

In her congratulatory message, Hasina conveyed her heartfelt wishes on behalf of the people of Bangladesh and herself.

"I extend my sincere congratulations on the decisive victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 18th Lok Sabha elections," Hasina said.

In her message, Prime Minister Hasina highlighted Modi as a symbol of the aspirations of the Indian people, noting that his victory underscores their faith in his promises and dedication to the nation.

"Your win is a testament to the trust and confidence the people of India have in your commitments and selfless service to the nation," she added.
