The government has a plan to sell products at subsidized prices through the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) for the middle-class people of the country, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said on Sunday.
“We have a plan to sell TCB products to middle-income people in the future,” said the state minister after inaugurating the sale of TCB products nationwide at a programme at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani playground in Mirpur-11 on Sunday (June 2).
The latest sale aims to provide daily essentials at subsidized prices to one crore family cardholders ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
An individual cardholder will be able to purchase a maximum of 2 liters of soybean oil at Tk100/liter, 2 kg of lentils at Tk60/kg, 1 kg of sugar at Tk70/kg, and 5 kg of rice at Tk30/kg, with the total package costing Tk540.
