At least one person was killed when a gas cylinder exploded on the ground floor of a three-storied building in the capital's Badda area.
The incident occurred at 6:43am on Thursday (30 May), Fire Service Control Room Officer Talha Bin Jasim told Bangladesh First.
"At 6:43 am, an explosion took place on the ground floor of a three-storey building on DIT Road No. 4, Badda. Initially, it is believed that the explosion may have occurred due to gas cylinder leakage. But it can be confirmed by investigation," he added.
Two units of firefighters from Baridhara Fire Station rushed to the spot after receiving information.
The fire left one person injured.
