A magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolted Dhaka, Sylhet, Chattogram and some other parts of the country at 7:13 pm on Wednesday (29 May).
The epicenter of the earthquake was 31 km East-southeast (ESE) of Mawlaik, Myanmar, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
There was no immediate report of casualties or damage.
