Amidst a mild heat wave sweeping over significant parts of the country today, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in a few areas of the Sylhet and Chattogram Divisions until Friday.
However, by Saturday, the rain is expected to spread to most parts of all eight divisions in the country, according to the BMD weather bulletin issued on Thursday (May 23).
In its five-day forecast starting from Sunday, BMD predicts an increase in rainfall across the country.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area that formed over the Southwest Bay and adjoining areas yesterday now lies over the West Central Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay.
The low pressure is likely to intensify further, the met office reported today.
