The Election Commission has directed the authorities concerned to dispose of expatriate Bangladeshis' applications for national identity card (NID) registration and enlistment in the voter list within 7 days.
Sarwar Hossain, assistant director at the National Identity Registration Wing, has already sent a notice regarding the EC instruction to the field-level offices.
The notice states that the applications should be addressed upon collecting biometric information within seven days, and the data should be uploaded online within the next two days.
The officers concerned have been directed to comply with the Constitution, the Citizenship Act, the Voter List Act, the National Identity Registration Act, and relevant laws while dealing with the applications.
