Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud has stated that terrorist groups are recruiting members from Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar.

"Terrorist groups are actively recruiting members from Rohingya camps. This not only poses a security problem for Bangladesh but also for neighboring countries, as their networks are spreading," said the minister before a meeting with stakeholders at the office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) in Cox's Bazar on Sunday, May 12th.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' parliamentary standing committee members visited the Rohingya camps on Sunday.

The minister stated that the Rohingyas have created many problems in Bangladesh, including environmental concerns, challenges in maintaining law and order, as well as their alleged participation in drug trafficking activities.

On the Rohingya repatriation issue, the foreign minister said, "Discussions with the Myanmar government are ongoing. They always promise to take back the Rohingya, but it is regrettable that they haven't repatriated a single Rohingya yet. We are discussing with other countries so that they can exert pressure on the Myanmar government to repatriate the Rohingya with dignity."
