The Appellate Division dismissed the leave to appeal against the High Court's order regarding GM Quader's role as chairman of Jatiyo Party.

The four-member Appellate Division, led by Senior Appellate Judge M Enayetur Rahim, issued this order on Sunday, affirming GM Quader's authority to continue his duties and organizational activities as the chairman of Japa.

Ziaul Haque Mridha, the party's expelled leader, filed for leave to appeal against the High Court's order concerning GM Quader's position as Japa chairman. The appeal sought time for May 5, and the court set May 12 for the hearing. Today, the matter is brought to light.

Senior lawyer Mohammad Saeed Ahmed represented Ziaul Haque Mridha in court, accompanied by lawyers Golam Rabbani and Abdullah Al Mamun.

Lawyer Sheikh Muhammad Sirajul Islam, Wazi Ullah, and Khawaja Tanveer Ahmed represented GM Quader during the hearing.

Subsequently, lawyer Sheikh Muhammad Sirajul Islam said that with the dismissal of the leave to appeal, the High Court's ruling regarding GM Quader's duties as Japa chairman stands. GM Quader will continue his duties and organisational activities without hindrance.

Ziaul Haque Mridha's lawyer, Golam Rabbani, said, “The Appellate Division rejected the leave to appeal and directed to continue the hearing on the High Court ruling. Now the initiative to hear the rule will be taken.”
