Milton Samadder's wife Mithu Halder cannot deny her involvement given her connection to the Child and Old Age Care," Harun Or Rashid, Chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said on Sunday (May 5).

"Milton’s wife Mithu is a nurse by profession. She would regularly visit Milton’s care center. Even after being aware of the irregularities there, she didn’t bother to inform the administration. That's why she can't deny her part in Milton’s offense," said the DB chief while addressing reporters at the DB office on Minto Road.

Mithu Halder was summoned to the DB office on Sunday for questioning regarding the irregularities in Milton’s Child and Old Age Care.

However, the DB chief mentioned that they have not found any connection between Mithu Halder and the bank accounts and transactions Milton had regarding the operation of the care center.

Following the interrogation by the DB police, Mithu Halder told reporters that she respects the law. "Whatever the law decides, I will comply with."

Meanwhile, the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shanta Akter granted a four-day remand against Milton in a human trafficking case today.

A three-day remand in a death certificate forgery case has ended today. According to the case statement, “Milton Samaddar used to forge death certificates of people who died in his shelter center. He used to forge doctors’ signatures and seals on the death certificates of those who died at the center.

“Milton Samadder is not a registered medical practitioner. No registered doctor has been appointed in his institution. He fraudulently made money by creating institutions in the name of child and old age care services.”

It stated that Milton and his manager, Kishore Bala, cheated anonymous children and elderly people in the name of service to humanity.

A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained Milton Samadder from Mirpur, Dhaka, on Wednesday.
