All schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical education institutions across the country have resumed academic activities on Sunday (May 5) after an extended closure due to heatwave.

Regarding the reopening of the all educational institutions, Ministry of Education issued a notice on Saturday (4 May) saying, "Classroom activities will resume in all educational institutions across the country starting from Sunday."

Saturday’s notice also asked the educational institutions to adhere to the conditions outlined by the Ministry of Education in the notice issued on 25 April.

Schools and colleges were initially set to reopen on 21 April after Eid holidays but remained closed until 27 April due to intense heatwaves.

Classes resumed on 28 April despite ongoing heat concerns, prompting worries among guardians, especially of primary level students.

Following a High Court order due to reported deaths and illnesses among teachers and students, primary and secondary level educational institutions remained closed until 2 May.
