Amid the persistent severe heat waves sweeping across the country, the residents of Chattogram got some relief as rain graced the port city and the surrounding areas.
The local meteorological office has recorded 7 millimetres of rain in two phases of rain in the city.
Rain graced Chattogram at around 3am on Thursday (2 May), later it rained again at 9am.
Due to the rain, the intensity of heat waves has decreased.
Chittagong's Patenga Meteorological Office said intermittent light to moderate rain is likely in the port city in the next 24 hours.
Meteorologist Abdul Baker said, "A total of 7 mm of rainfall has been recorded so far. There may be more rain in Chattogram in the afternoon and evening. There is a chance of intermittent rain tomorrow as well”.
