At least 10 people died of heat stroke in the country last week, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During that time, 5 people were admitted to different hospitals in the country due to heat stroke, said the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of DGHS on Tuesday (30 April).
Among the 10 people who died of heat stroke across the country, eight were men and two were women.
The Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room have started collecting data on heat stroke patients at government hospitals across the country from 22 April as severe heat waves sweep across the country.
DGHS said the organisation has prepared a guideline titled "Guideline on Management of Heat Related Illness" for the treatment of heat-related illnesses.
They also said doctors across the country are being trained in the light of this guideline online.
