The death toll from a head-on collision between a microbus and a bus in Eidgaon area of Cox's Bazar increased to six.

The death toll from a head-on collision between a microbus and a bus in Eidgaon area of Cox's Bazar increased to six.

Mozammel Haque, in-charge of Dulahazara highway police, said the accident took place on Cox's Bazar-Chattogram highway in Khodaibari AG Lutfur Kabir Adarsha Dakhil 

Madrasa area around 11:30am yesterday (29 April), leaving three people dead and at least 12 others injured.

The injured were admitted to different hospitals in the districts. Of them, three more people succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased were identified as Hafsa Begum, Md Dula Mia, Abu Ahmad, Mahmuda Begum, and her daughter Saira Khatun. The identity of the rest one dead could not be known yet.

The victims were passengers of the microbus that was heading towards Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram from Cox's Bazar. 

They were returning to Banshkhali after having eye surgeries in Cox's Bazar Baitush Sharaf Eye Care Hospital.

They hailed from different villages in Banshkhali upazila of the district town.
