Tourist collapsed to death at Cox's Bazar beach

A tourist died today (27 April) while speaking on his phone at Cox's Bazar sea beach.

The incident took place at Sugandha point where Matiur Rahman, 40, collapsed on ground while talking on his phone. 

He was quickly taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

"He suddenly fell to the ground while he was on the phone," said Mohammad Usman, a lifeguard who witnessed the incident.

"It is preliminarily believed that the tourist died from a heart attack," said the duty doctor at the hospital.

The deceased hailed from the Burichang upazila in Cumilla. His family has been informed of the tragedy, and they are en route to Cox's Bazar, said Uzzal, a beach worker.
