The fire on a launch in the Shyambazar Ghat area of the capital has been brought under control.
Five units of the service worked to douse the flames.
The fire started at around 12:55pm on Tuesday (23 April), Fire Service Control Room Officer Talha bin Jasim said.
"Fire broke out on the third floor of a launch named MV Bangali. There were no passengers on the launch. We reached the spot around 1:50 am and started work to control the fire. At present, 2 units from Sadarghat Fire Station, 2 units from Postgola Fire Station and 1 unit from Siddique Bazar Station are working to control the fire," he added.
Cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
No casulities have been reported so far.
