Three people were killed when a truck ran over two motorcycles in Paba upazila of Rajshahi on Friday afternoon (19 April).
The deceased were identified as Asif Iqbal, 19, son of Lal Muhammad; Sweet, 31, son of Alamgir; and Tajul Islam, 25, son of Md Zahurul Islam.
Additionally, two others were injured and taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Ali Akbar, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Damkura Police Station, stated that five people riding on two motorcycles were heading towards the city around 4 pm. At approximately 4:30 pm, when they reached the Muralipur area, the dump truck collided with the two motorcycles, resulting in two deaths on the spot.
He added that the bodies were sent to the morgue of RMCH for autopsies and would be handed over to relatives following legal procedures.
