The Ministry of Education has pledged to take stern action against educational institutions found collecting additional fees from the examinees of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) under the guise of test examinations.
In a notification issued on Tuesday (16 April), the ministry addressed concerns raised by various media outlets regarding the collection of extra fees from students in the name of test examinations and the denial of admit cards to them.
“Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury has instructed that no additional fees shall be levied on any student in the name of test examinations, and students cannot be denied admit cards on examination grounds,” reads the statement.
In the event of non-compliance with this direction, the Education Ministry has asked the relevant authorities to take specific measures against those institutions, said the notification.
