The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr was held in the National.
The main Eid congregation was held at 8:30am on Thursday (11 April).
During the Eid congregation, prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the country.
President Mohammed Sahabuddin, Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, cabinet members, members of parliament, Supreme Court and High Court judges, political leaders, senior government officials, diplomats from various Muslim countries and thousands of people from all walks of life offered prayers in the main congregation at the National Eidgah.
Khatib Maulana Mufti Ruhul Amin of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram led the Eid congregation.
People started gathering in front of the main gate of the National Eidgah from 7am to offer prayers.
The Eid prayer was followed by a sermon.
About 35,000 devotees perform Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.
There was also a separate arrangement for women to pray.
