The price of 22-carat gold has increased by Tk1,750 to Tk1,17,573 per bhori

The price of gold has soared to a new record high, reaching Tk1,17,573 per bhori in the country.

The price of 22-carat gold has increased by Tk1,750 to Tk1,17,573 per bhori, reads a statement issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) on Monday (8 April). 

Previously, on 6 April, the price of 22-carat gold had increased by Tk Tk1,750 to Tk1,15,823 per bhori.

According to the new price, the price of 21-carat gold now stands at Tk1,12,208 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk96,228 per bhori. For the traditional method, the price of gold is Tk80,190 per bhori. 

The new prices will be effective from Wednesday (9 April).

BAJUS stated that the price hike is due to the rise in gold prices in the local market.

On 6 April, the price of 21-carat gold was fixed at Tk1,10,575 per bhori, while 18-carat gold was priced at Tk94,770 per bhori. For the traditional method, the price of gold was Tk78,965 per bhori.
