Police have arrested 3 members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) and a car driver from Thanchi during the ongoing joint operation against extremists following the recent bank robberies and attacks by insurgent groups.
The three KNF members were arrested on Monday (8 April), Bandarban Additional Superintendent of Police Hossain Mohammad Raihan Kazemi said.
Yesterday, Army chief SM Shafiuddin Ahmed said some extremists were arrested during the joint operation.
He also informed the media about the seizure of weapons from them.
On Sunday (7 April), the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested KNF's chief coordinator in Bandarban Cheosim Bom, 55.
He is a close associate of KNF chief Nathan Bom, RAB said.
