The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Chaosim Bom, the chief coordinator of the armed group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), raiding his residence in Sharonpara, located under the Sualok union in Bandarban Sadar upazila on Sunday (7 April).
Fifty-five-year-old Chaosim Bom was apprehended from inside an almirah at his residence, said RAB.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General Mohammad Shafiuddin Ahmed said a number of terrorists have already been arrested along with weapons as part of a crackdown against the KNF.
He further added that the army is capable of controlling the situation arising in Bandarban.
He said, “The outcome of the crackdown will be visible soon. I would like to assert that the instructions we have received from the Prime Minister are very clear. We have strict directives from the Prime Minister to take whatever actions are necessary for the peace of the people and the sovereignty of the country.”
