At least two persons were burnt to death when an oil tanker truck overturned and caught fire on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar.
The incident took place on the Aricha bound lane in the Jordpul area around 5:00am on Tuesday (2 April), Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director (Zone-4) Md Alauddin told media.
On information, six firefighting units from Savar and Hemayetpur rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, the official said.
Seven people sustained burn injuries as the fire spread and at least four more vehicles -- a sedan car, one cement-laden truck, one watermelon-carrying truck and a lorry were engulfed in flames.
The injured were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka.
