A young woman had been kept in chains and gang-raped for 25 days in Nabinagar housing area in the capital’s Mohammadpur.

The 23-year-old victim of the incident filed a case against four people, including her boyfriend, with Mohammadpur Police Station on Sunday (31 March), said Azizul Haque, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Mohammadpur Zone of Tejgaon Division of DMP.

The woman's boyfriend San (26), his two friends Himel (27), and Rocky (29), and their aide Salma alias Jhumur (28), wife of an expatriate, were made accused in the case, the police official said.

He said the rapists brutally tortured the woman with the help of Salma.

Azizul Haque added that the young woman was rescued from a flat in Nabinagar housing area after receiving a phone call on Sunday. 

An operation is underway to arrest those involved in the heinous crime, he said, adding that the details will be disclosed today (1 April).

According to the case statement, the victim was kept chained in the fourth floor flat of Salma in Nabinagar since 5 March and Salma helped in the incidents of rape by three young men.
