Bangladesh finished day two of the Mirpur Test at 101 for 3 wickets, trailing by 101 runs in their second innings. Despite a shaky start, losing two wickets for just 4 runs, a 55-run partnership between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mahmudul Hasan Joy helped stabilise the innings.

Najmul was dismissed for 23, but Mahmudul, along with Mushfiqur Rahim, safely guided Bangladesh to the stumps.

Mahmudul remains unbeaten on 38 runs, while Mushfiqur Rahim is on 31 from 26 deliveries.

Mushfiqur’s innings marked a historic moment as he became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 6,000 Test runs.

Mushfiqur achieved this milestone in his 93rd Test, surpassing Tamim Iqbal, who has 5,134 Test runs, making Mushfiqur the top scorer for Bangladesh in Test cricket.

Bangladesh still has work to do, trailing by 101 runs as they look to build a lead in the remaining days of the match.
