The interim government's Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain has stated that there is no confirmed information regarding the whereabouts of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
"Inquiries are being made in both India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to ascertain her location," he said during a press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (8 October).
Recently, reports have circulated on social media, suggesting that Sheikh Hasina, the president of the Awami League, has relocated from India to the UAE.
When asked if the foreign ministry is aware of this, the adviser stated, "We have not been able to confirm her location. We have made inquiries in Delhi, and in the UAE, but no official confirmation has been provided."
He further added, "Like all of you, we have seen reports that she may have travelled to Ajman. However, despite our efforts, we have not been able to reconfirm this information."
