A clash between garment workers and law enforcement in Ashulia resulted in the death of a 27-year-old worker and injuries to 20 others during a protest that blocked the Nabingar-Chandra highway

At least one person was killed and 20 injured when a violent clash occurred between law enforcement and garment factory workers in Ashulia, Savar.

The deceased, Kawsar Hossain Khan, 27, was an employee at Mango Text Limited, said Nasir, the operation in-charge of Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.

According to reports, several hundred garment workers began blocking the Nabingar-Chandra highway at the Baipail and DOHS points around 10am on Monday (30 September) leading to the fatal confrontation.
