Switzerland is keen to support Bangladesh to overcome the country's economic challenges.
Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh Reto Renggli expressed the keenness while meeting with Planning and Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud at the Planning Ministry office in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka on Sunday, said a press release.
The Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Dhaka, Corinne Henchoz Pignani, was also present at the meeting, reads a press release.
During the discussion, the Swiss ambassador informed the advisor about Switzerland's initiatives in areas such as human rights, labour laws, and climate change.
Wahiduddin Mahmud thanked the ambassador for Switzerland's continued support to Bangladesh.
He emphasized the importance of expanding technical education to boost productivity and enhance competitiveness in the global market, noting that Switzerland could play a role in this effort.
The advisor also called for tariff reductions in applicable areas to further strengthen bilateral trade relations.
