A delegation from Asian Development Bank (ADB) met with Planning Adviser Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud on Wednesday at the adviser’s office in the Planning Ministry, located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The delegation included Edimon Ginting, Senior Advisor, and Hoe Yun Jeong, the newly appointed Country Director for Bangladesh, reads a press release.
ADB's Deputy Country Director Jiangbo Ning and Country Economist Chandan Sapkota was also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the ADB representatives briefed the planning adviser on the bank’s ongoing projects in Bangladesh, as well as those awaiting approval. Both sides agreed on the need to reduce project costs and shorten implementation timelines.
The planning adviser informed the delegation that a task force has been established to reassess Bangladesh’s economic development strategies and mobilize the resources required for development.
The ADB delegation expressed their willingness to cooperate with the task force and assist Bangladesh in any other areas where support is needed.
