Speaking to reporters at an event held at the secretariat on Tuesday (17 September), the adviser shared this information during a briefing organised by the ministry.

The death toll currently stands at 74, with 68 people reported injured.

These figures have been compiled based on data from various ministries. However, the Advisor cautioned that the final damage estimate may fluctuate.

He also mentioned that the rehabilitation process has already commenced, with a central committee formed to oversee efforts.

District and Upazila-level committees will also be established to monitor and execute the necessary initiatives.

Additionally, the adviser stated that in flood-affected districts, the repayment of instalments has been suspended until October as part of relief efforts.
