The Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Md. Tajul Islam, expressed hope that the tribunal will be reconstituted within one week.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday afternoon at the Supreme Court premises, the chief prosecutor said, "We requested Law Adviser Asif Nazrul to expedite the restructuring of the ICT during a meeting. He assured us, and we are hopeful that the process will be completed within a week."
Tajul Islam further stated that no necessary orders from the court can be taken if the tribunal is not reconstituted soon.
"We have already begun our work, collecting evidence, and we will proceed with the jurisdictional process once the ICT is reconstituted," he added.
The investigation agency and prosecution team are currently visiting hospitals to gather evidence as part of the ongoing process, said the chief prosecutor.
