Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled its squad for the forthcoming series against India, which will be part of the ICC Test Championship.
Notably, Shariful Islam has been omitted from the squad due to an injury.
In his place, wicketkeeper-batter Zakir Ali Anik has been called up.
Bangladesh will depart for India on 15 September.
The series comprises two Test matches, with the first Test commencing on 19 September in Chennai. The second Test will begin on 27 September in Kanpur.
The 16-player squad for this tour sees one change from the recent Pakistan series.
Left-arm pacer Shariful Islam is sidelined due to a groin injury.
Consequently, Bangladesh has included an additional batter in the squad, with Zakir Ali Anik, a 26-year-old player yet to make his Test debut, filling the vacancy.
Anik, the least experienced member of the squad, has accumulated an average of 41.47 in first-class cricket since his debut in 2016. His recent performance includes a notable innings of 172 runs during the Pakistan tour.
