BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas has secured bail in a case filed in connection with the violence taken place following the party's grand rally in Dhaka on 28 October last year.
Dhaka’s Chief Judicial Magistrate, Julhas Uddin, passed the order today.
There is no obstacle to freeing the BNP leader from jail as he has been granted bail in all 11 cases filed following the 28 October rally.
Earlier, on Sunday (18 February), Mirza Abbas secured bail in the case filed over the attack on the chief justice’s residence.
On 31 October last year, the Detective Branch of Police arrested Mirza Abbas from Shahidbag in Dhaka.
He has been in jail ever since.
