Terming the 12th national election as 'government-controlled,' Jatiyo Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader stated that the government would lose acceptance as people would no longer believe it.

"The polls on 7th January didn't happen rightly. It was a controlled election by the government. No one will believe the government; they will lose the acceptance," GM Quader told the journalists at his home in Rangpur

“A new dimension has been observed in Bangladeshi politics, and the government will have to be held liable in future elections,” he said further.

We participated in the election believing in them, but they didn't keep their commitment, Quader added.

Jatiyo Party candidates participated in the elections in most constituencies with the party's nomination but were only able to secure victory only in 11 constituencies.
