Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has reiterated India's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Bangladesh's interim government.

"No ongoing projects between the two nations, including the Ashuganj-Akhaura road project, have been suspended," he said speaking to the press after a meeting with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed at the secretariat on Tuesday (10 September).

Verma dismissed concerns over the suspension of any projects.

He stated that although some contractors for projects like the Ashuganj-Akhaura road have temporarily returned to India, they will soon resume work.

The Indian envoy highlighted India's efforts to boost bilateral trade in key sectors, including industry, commerce, science, and technology.

Addressing a query regarding the disbursement of loans, Verma clarified that there are no issues with the release of funds from India to Bangladesh.

He affirmed that India would continue its strong bilateral relations with the interim government, as it did previously.

However, when asked about any discussions on visa matters, Verma informed the media that no such talks took place during his meeting with the Economic Advisor.
