A committee will be formed soon for reforming police force, said Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

He was talking with an eight-member team of UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) led by Bangladesh Resident Representative Stefan Liller at his secretariat office on Monday (9 September).

Jahangir Alam said, "It (police reform) is still at primary stage. No committee has been formed in this regard till now. But an initial committee will be formed to reform police soon." 
During the discussion, they talked about different contemporary issues including police reform and rehabilitation of flood affected people.

After getting the recommendations and opinions of the primary committee, the procedure will be taken forward and the next course of action will be fixed, he added.
