Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum has called on doctors to end their complete shutdown and resume their duties.

She made this appeal during her visit to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Hospital at 3:40 pm on Sunday.

In an effort to address the issue, coordinators of the Anti-Discriminatory Student Movement, including Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, and Abu Baker Majumder, held a meeting with DMCH authorities.

The nationwide shutdown by doctors was declared in response to the assault and humiliation of their colleagues at DMCH. The doctors have demanded justice and enhanced security for medical professionals.

Earlier that morning, doctors at DMCH had suspended medical services, citing safety concerns and demanding justice for recent attacks. The incident in question occurred on Saturday night when three doctors from the Department of Neurosurgery were assaulted.
