Interim government’s adviser for the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Professor Dr Asif Nazrul said the scene at the secretariat could have faced a dire situation on Sunday (25 August) if students had not intervened.

Speaking to journalists on Monday (26 August), while visiting injured students at Dhaka Medical College (Dhaka Medical College) Hospital, Dr Nazrul made the statement.

Dr Nazrul asserted that the Ansar members did not come with the intent of making demands.

Instead, he claimed they had arrived in disguise. He emphasised that the student body and the public are vigilant and that their plans will not come to fruition.
