Metro rail employees have resumed their duties, and there is optimism that metro rail services will recommence on Sunday (25 August), said  Road Transport and Highways Division Senior Secretary Mohammad Ehsanul Haq.

Visiting the metro rail station at the Press Club in Dhaka on Tuesday (20 August), he held discussions with metro rail officials regarding the urgent resumption of services and issued directives to implement the necessary measures.

However, Secretary Haq indicated that despite the planned restart, the Kazi Para and Mirpur-10 stations will remain closed due to ongoing repairs and maintenance.

He instructed that measures be taken to expedite the reopening of these two stations as soon as possible.

The visit was attended by MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) along with senior officials from the ministry.
