A Dhaka court on Thursday granted a 10-day remand against former Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, former State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, and Dhaka University Student League General Secretary Tanvir Hasan Saikat.
Metropolitan Magistrate Rashidul Alam passed the order after police presented them in the court amid tight security, seeking 10-day remand for each.
On 14 August, police arrested Shamsul Haque Tuku, Palak and Saikat from the Nikunj residential area in Khilkhet, Dhaka, in a case filed over the murder of rickshaw puller Kamal Mia.
