Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered the freezing of bank accounts belonging to former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and his family, seeking full disclosure of their financial transactions

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has issued a directive to seize the bank accounts held by former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and his family members.

Additionally, the agency has requested comprehensive details regarding these accounts.

According to the communication dispatched by the BFIU to banks and financial institutions, all transactions from the personal and business accounts of Hasan Mahmud, his wife Nurun Fatema, and their daughter Nafisa Zumina Mahmud are to be halted immediately.

Hasan Mahmud, who is a joint general Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League, previously served as a minister to multiple ministries.

He has represented the Chattogram-6 constituency in the 9th National Parliament and the Chattogram-7 constituency in the 10th and 11th National Parliaments.
